Description This unit is available to students who have passed TEE Applicable Mathematics and is equivalent to TEE Calculus. Topics include real numbers; absolute value in equations and inequalities; complex numbers; functions and graphs; continuity and limits; differentiation and applications; trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions; integration and applications; and vector calculus. Assessment This comprises an end-of-semester examination and in-semester tests and assignments. All assessment tasks require students to apply their knowledge of the unit content to solve previously unseen problems. In all written assessed work, credit is given for clarity and correctness of presentation as well as for actual results.Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete the course. |
