Assessment This comprises a three-hour examination and in-semester assignments and/or tests. All assessment tasks require students to apply their knowledge of the unit content to solve previously unseen problems. Students are expected to demonstrate that they have understood the theoretical basis of the topics discussed and appreciate the need for precision in mathematical concepts. Credit is given for clarity and correctness of presentation as well as for actual results.Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete the course. |
