I'm a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, winner of the Pitman Medal and the Hannan Medal, and a specialist in statistical ways of interpreting spatial and geometrical information - such as microscope images of biological tissue; the spatial arrangement of animals territories, trees in a wood or copper deposits in a mining area; and spatial patterns generated by random accidents such as crystal defects in semiconductors.
Our research covers mathematics and information science, including applied and pure mathematics, statistics, groups, combinatorics and computation.
Over 7 million dollars of funding has been awarded to research projects involving members of the School since 2005.
