Sometimes without realizing it all of us are constantly chasing after the best and exerting control over things that are significant to us.

These 2 lectures will formalize these concepts in a concise and mathematically tractable manner, appropriately illustrated by insightful real world examples such as how to control a high performance supersonic aircraft like the F4D from the ground to reach the operational altitude of 60,000 feet in minimum time.

This will help some of you to figure out how to rush from home to attend a lecture at UWA in minimum time.

There will be two mini-classes 45 minutes in duration given at 1pm on Friday in the Blakers Lecture Theatre.  No registration is required, simply turn up to your preferred date below.

 About the lecturer:  CJ has wide-ranging research interests, but his current primary interest is in the optimal control of flexible airfoils - a euphemism for wind and kite-surfing
