Rebreathers

As one of my diving friends put it: "Rebreathers! Six interesting new ways to die!" Or as it is stated on a website somewhere, "Diving with rebreather need special knowledge and kills."

One of the scariest things about rebreathers is the people who use them. Many rebreather divers seem to have an urge to modify their equipment. Personally I think you should only attempt to modify a rebreather if you are a qualified engineer with training in hyperbaric medicine, pulmonary physiology, fluid mechanics and computer science, have plenty of spending money so that you don't make any compromises, and have no loved ones who will miss you when you are gone.
